Gujarat Police have so far arrested nine persons in connection with Ahmedabad’s fresh wall city riot. According to Joint Police Commissioner Satish Sharma, total nine persons are arrested. Of them five are from Shahpur police station area. Others are arrested in Kalupur and Madhupura police station areas. Shri Sharma said that five persons are detained. Total 12 cases are filed.

Sharma said there has been one death and 21 persons are injured in wall city riot. He said, there are six SRP companies, two Rapid Action Force company, and 12 police officers from PI to SP rank deployed in troubled area.

Sharma said the trouble would end soon in wall city area because of three reasons; (1) People by and large are not interested in riot, (2) Massive security force has been deployed, and (3) Riot is limited to only some parts of the wall city area.

When asked about whether there could be any political connection to this riot, Sharma replied there could be and could not be, the things will come out in investigation whatever they are.
