Nation can not rely on Delhi anymore:Modi attacks centre on number of issues
Rajkot, DeshGujarat, 15 August, 2010

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi attacked the central government on number of issues in his 15th August speech at Rajkot. Following are some of his quotes from his 15th August speech.

“In last six years, the central govt has not increased the production of even a one kilo of new Urea.”

“The problem of Kashmir is not a problem just between the separatists and the government of India, but it is an issue near to hearts for billion people of this nation. Sardar Patel successfully united all native states, but Nehru kept Kashmir issue with him, which is not solved even now. Terrorism can not be tackled on tables, they should be feared with red eyes. America did it. They improved their laws after 9/11, and thanks to this, there is no terror event anymore there. America has recently published a report indicating that India has weak laws to fight against terrorism.”

“The central govt on one side says, India’s most serious problem is Naxalism, and on the other side, they have no concrete plan to tackle this situation. One minister talks about finishing the Naxalism, the other minister shares stage with Naxalites. The core issue is that, from where, the weapons are coming to Naxalites? Once you prevent the trafficking of weapons, they will come to talk with you.”

“When there is no morale boosting dose coming in from Delhi’s Red fort on 15 August anymore, for the Youths and the women of this nation, the nation can’t rely any more on the central government. The responsibility of future of this Nation is now increasingly more on shoulder of states like Gujarat to serve mother Bharati.”

“I want to seriously allege that the NGOs that are involved in activities of harassing Gujarat, are awarded with Padmashree and Padmabhushan by the central government. Not only this but they are given budget of crores of rupees through government treasury. The people of Gujarat can not tolerate this. Those who are working for Danav Adhikar are awarded and those who are working for Manav Adhikars are suppressed. This is unfortunate situation prevailing in the nation.”

“I was listening to the Prime Minister’s speech today morning on TV. I heard, the Prime Minister said, India’s villages will be prosperous if the nation can achieve four per cent growth in agricultural sector. I want to tell that when the govt of India is dreaming of four percent growth in Agriculture sector, our Gujarat has achieved 9% growth already in this sector in last 10 years.”
