Gujarat has witnessed 98.96% sowing of monsoon this year so far in 8606900 hectare land. according to state Agriculture department figures available as on 30th August, the detail of major crop and area in hectare is following:

Cotton – 2632200
Ground nut – 1672500
Paddy – 758700
Corn – 425300
Juvar 74700

According to agriculture experts, there will be equally good Rabi season as well, because most of the important water bodies across the state are near full or full, or overflowing in some cases.
