With “Dikari Mari Ladakvayi” Manhar Udhas balances it
Ahmedabad, 2 October, 2010
Why famous Gujarati song ‘Dikro Maro Ladakvayo’ should be only for male child?
The king of Gujarati Ghazals Shri Manhar Udhas has come out with a new album, and the opening and happening song of the album is: ‘Dikri Mari Ladakavayi’, a song dedicated to girl child.
The words of this song go like this: “Dikari Mari Ladakavayi, Lakshmi No Avatar”
When his 27th Gujarati ghazal album ‘Anmol’ was launched in Ahmedabad’s YMCA ground on Friday evening, Manhad Udhas presented this song with dozens of little girls sitting on stage with him. The audience welcomed this balancing act.
So now onwards, when you are blessed with a girl child, you can sing this famous Gujarati ‘Halardu’ for her too. Why should boys only have all privileges?
