Surat to get sixth river bridge, Tapi river front project next week

So if Rajkot got its first flyover this week, the city of Surat will get its sixth river bridge next week on 25th of January.
Gujarat Cheif Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a bridge on river Tapi that connects Dabholi and Jahangirpura. Modi will also address a public meeting in Jahangirpura, but that programme will be about employment related state programmes.
On same day the Chief Minister will perform ground breaking for proposed riverfront project which is planned to serve 3 km long bank of river Tapi covering 54 hector land. This Rs.44 crore project will be second riverfront project after Ahmedabad.
As the state government is going to organize 26th of January in Surat, there are number of events planned on and around the day.
According to district prabhari minister Mangubhai Patel both Governor and the Chief Minister will meet select citizens during ‘At home’ event on 25th. On 26th, the main event will be held at Varachha based Yogi chowky.
On 22 January Sarthana will witness PT exercise show at 8.00 pm. During 24-26 January, Udhna based BRC ground will host a development fair consisting 55 stalls. On 23rd Killa ground will host Gujarati songs event. On 24th a lok dayro will be held at Katargam, and on same day the indoor stadium will witness folk dances and folk songs event. On 25th Katargam lake garden will host a quiz competition involving about 2500 students.
Ground breaking of Ugat botanical garden, Khubsurat Gujarat event on 25th at Vanita Vishram are other events planned for 26th January celebration in Surat.
