A high level meeting to finalize the details of second edition of Khel Mahakumbh was held today in Gandhinagar. The meeting was presided by Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

According to the decisions taken in the meeting, this year’s Khel Mahakumbh will be held between 21 November and 23 December. Chief Minister Modi will flag off the torch of Khel Mahakumbh – 2011 at 11.11 am on 11 November. The torch will travel total distance of 2550 km in ten days covering 26 districts. The inauguration ceremony will be held on 21 November.

Different games are planned for different age groups such as below 16, above 16, about 45 and above 60(friendly).

Separate sports festivals for differently able persons, security forces, and jawans in uniform were also planned during the meeting.
