This can be considered as serious incident of breach of security at Ahmedabad airport.

A passenger 37-year-old Bangladeshi national, Rafiqul Rehman of a Spice Jet flight SD 883 from Ahmedabad to Kolkata last Sunday not only managed to dodge the security check at Ahmedabad airport and slipped into the aircraft with a lighter and match boxes but also lit up a cigarette inside the aircraft, causing panic among passengers and the cabin crew.

Fellow passengers in flight tried to stop Rehaman and called the cabin crew. But instead of regretting for the act Rehman argued after which the cigarette was taken away forcibly and stubbed.

Prior to the landing in Kolkata the captain of the flight briefed the Air Traffic Control. On arrival of the flight CISF men arrested Rehman and handed him over to police.
