While other states go to centre for increase in quota of sugar, kerosene or for works related to roads, look at the height of development in Gujarat, that we demanded satellite transponder for long distance education, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said in his speech at Sadbhavana mission fast at Surat today evening.
Modi said he has no time to waste for those who live in negativity because his every moment is for 6 crore Gujaratis.
“I wrote a letter to the Prime Minister that Gujarat can utilize unused strength of satellites and put a demand of satellites. Before a week one transponder of 36 Mhz has been allotted to us. We in Gujarat have broadband connectivity in all 18000 villages. That too will be powered by 36 transponders now. This means we can do a lot. We can start long distance education in villages. Gandhinagar’s best teacher can teach a student in remote village, farmers can be guided. This is our concept of development,” Modi said.
“On the other hand, Congress people still give speeches that promise hand pump. They don’t know water management beyond hand pump,” Modi added.
Modi further said, “From Surat district one Amarsinh Chaudhary was Congress CM. I went to his village and found that the villagers were using hand pumps. Chaudhary was Congress CM and he could at least do something for his village. The village had water tank but people were so habituated of using hand pump that the water tank was lying idle. We finally activated the water tank to provide water at doorstep.”
Modi also talked about tourism development in the Rann of Kutch and announced Rs 2100 crore for Surat attracting applause and cheer.
