Ahmedabad, 17 January 2012
Gujarat High Court today rejected a contempt plea against Chief Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly making his letter to PM seeking Governor’s recall public, when a case on this matter was pending in the high court.
Two applications for contempt of court were filed in September last year against Narendra Modi in the high court in Ahmedabad for, he had “deliberately challenged” the authority of the high court by writing to the Prime Minister seeking the recall of governor Kamla Beniwal for appointing a Lokayukta without keeping him in the loop.
