Cricket star Sachin Tendulkar’s T-shirt which was presented to the Gujarat Chief Minister to raise fund for the girl child education fund has been auctioned at a price of Rs 1,11,000 according to sources involved in auction process.
The T-shirt, according to sources, is now in possession of Ahmedabad Textile Processors Association, the highest bidder.
Sachin Tendulkar had gifted his 2003 word cup’s ’10′ number T-shirt to Shri Narendra Modi through Vadodara based former cricketer and Sachian Tendulkar’s friend Atul Bedade.
Bedade visited Gujarat Chief Minister in May last year and gave him Sachin Tendulkar’s T shirt.
“When Sachin came to know that Narendra Modi is a cricket fan and he collects charity for ‘girl child education’ fund and ‘save girl child’, he gave his ’10′ number t-shirt in Mumbai and asked me to give it to Chief Minister Modi to raise fund for girl child education through auction,” Bedade had said at that time.
It should be mentioned here that Chief Minister Modi auctions the gifts he receives, and uses the funds for girl child welfare programmes. Such auctions generated crores of rupees so far.
Sachin’t T-shirt and 1400 other gifts of Modi were last week exhibited in Ahmedabad’s Ravishankar Rawal gallery.
