March 12, 2012
“I can’t understand what has happened to the government in Delhi. There’s no steadiness, no consistency in their policies. Today I heard that they are removing ban on cotton export. Now you are going to remove it now, but whatever lose had to happen has happened. Due to your wrong policies, the farmers of Gujarat have already faced thousands of crores of rupees lose.”
Surat, 11 March 2012
Addressing to a huge gathering of north Indian communities living in Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that there are lakhs of people who came to Gujarat from all corners of India and are earning their livelihood in Gujarat with peace, unity and harmony. These communities have given a slap on the face of inimical people who spread lies to defame Gujarat. They are the true ambassadors of Gujarat.
Communities of 22 different states of India living in Surat held ‘holy sneh milan’ under the auspices Uttar Bhartiya Samaj. They felicitated the Chief Minister for the success of Sadbhavna Mission.
Greeting the people for Holi Chief Minister said that all the communities coming from different parts of India have contributed in the growth of the state.
‘Gujarat’s growth for India’s growth’ is the mantra of Gujarat, said Chief Minister while greeting the sea of humanity gathered on the occasion.
Gujaratis living outside Gujarat have a unique bond with the state as they can feel an atmosphere of peace and safety in Gujarat, he said.
Mr. Modi said that at one side Gujarat has created an atmosphere of trust and progress while on the other side the credibility of centre’s UPA government has touched the bottom. The central government arbitrarily imposes ban on cotton export and then reverses its decision if the farmers protest. The entire central government is immersed in corruption and has lost its credibility.
Gujarat will never bow down to those who device plots to defame Gujarat. There are people who threaten to put Modi behind bar but the one who resides in the hearts of people can not be confined to the walls of jail, said Mr. Modi.
