Preity Zinta visits Umargam in Gujarat scouting the land for film studio

Bollywood film actress Preity Zinta is exploring possibility of setting up a 500-acre film studio close to Umargam in south Gujarat.
Preity Zinta met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in this regard last month and gave a detailed presentation at Modi’s residence.
Preity Zinta is so serious with her project that in the weekend she personally visited Umargam with her business manager.
Local Mamlatdar showed her a 1200-acre coastal waste land of Khatalwada village. Zinta and her partners were also taken to nearby Padgam village.
According to sources, Zinta is interested in purchase of 500-acre land. But it is not clear at this time, whether she has okayed couple of pieces of land that the state has identified for her project.
Umargam is closer to Mumbai, than any other major city of Gujarat. In past entire shooting of TV serial Ramayana took place here. The area has a sea coast, jungle, farms, jungle and open ground. Umargam is located on Ahmedabad-Surat railway track.
