New Gujarat High Court Justice PB Majumdar takes oath

Justice P. B. Majumdar (Pradeep Bhadrayulal Majumdar) today took the oath to become Gujarat High Court Judge.
B.Com., LL.B. : Born on 9.9.1950. Passed B.Com., LL.B. examinations from M. S. University, Bardoa. Enrolled as an Advocate on 7.8.1974. Started practice in 1974 at Baroda. Shifted to Ahmedabad and started practice with his brother Mr. S. B. Majmudar who later on became a Judge of the High Court of Gujarat and thereafter Chief Justice of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh High Courts and subsequently appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
Conducted various civil, criminal, constitutional and company matters in the High Court of Gujarat and was having lucrative practice in all the branches of law.
Was unanimously elected as President of the High Court Bar Association in the year 1995-96 and also appointed as Sr. Central Government Standing Counsel in October, 1996 and was holding the said post till he was elevated as Judge of High Court of Gujarat.
Belongs to a family of lawyers and Judges. His father was a leading lawyer in Baroda Bar, where he practised upto the age of 82. His another brother is also a senior lawyer of Baroda Bar.
His elder brother Shri S. B. Majmudar is a Retired Judge of the Supreme Court and his another brother Shri N. G. Nandi was a Sitting Judge of Gujarat High Court.
Elevated to the Bench of Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge on 17.9.1999 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 25.8.2000. Due to retire on 9.9.2012.
