Jamnagar, 6 July 2012
The city of Jamnagar will have 100 new speed breakers on roads soon!
Local civic authority has issued a tender worth estimated Rs 42 lakh for construction of 100 speed breakers. cost per speed breaker is estimated at Rs 42,000 and positions of 72 speed breakers are fixed.
Jamnagar Municipal Corporation has already constructed 35 new speed breakers in last two years.
JMC had earlier put plastic speed breakers at couple of placed, but they were stolen later on.
Speed breakers are needed when citizens have tendency of rough driving, and when there’s absence of basic traffic discipline. A plan to construct 100 speed breakers in a small city like Jamnagar clearly reflects a need for proper traffic education, and strong law enforcement on roads.
