Bangladesh delegation in Gujarat to study disaster management system

Impressed by Gujarat Government’s disaster management policies and practices of global standards, a high-level delegation of Bangladesh Government has come to Gujarat for in-depth study of the system and skills in its entirety.
The delegation led by Bangladesh Government’s Additional Secretary Asit Kumar Mukutmuni paid a courtesy call on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here today.
Mr. Modi briefed the delegation about the State Government’s initiative, building massive infrastructure, human resource development and training for disaster management after the killer earthquake in 2001 as well as the most challenging part of converting crises into opportunities.
Mr. Modi also assured Bangladesh of all possible cooperation in building up strong and effective machinery for disaster management.
