Anniversary of Shri Krishna’s departure to Golokdham to be marked at Somnath

Shri Krishna’s disappearance took place in 3102 BC on Chitra Sud Ekam tithi. As per the English calendar at 2.27.30 pm on the bank of Hiran river in Shri Somnath. This place is known as Golokdham tierh. Shri Krishna’s charan paduka is there. This year the tithi comes on 11 April, and it will be celebrated as Shri Krishna Golokdham Mahotsav.
To mark this occasion, flag installation will take place at 10.30 am followed by Vishnuyag, venunad, shankhnad, kesari snan abhishekh. At 6.00 pm Vishnuyag will conclude followed by 1000 oil lamps aarti at 7.00 pm.
As per Bharatiya Shk Samvat callendar, Chaitra Sudh Ekam is considered a new year day. Shri Somnath Trust for the first time – will celebrate welcoming of Sun God’s arrival on 11 April with cultural events starting from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm.
