GWSSB dials Sarpanchs to get feedback on water supply

In a unique attempt to know the real situation of water supply on the ground in Saurashtra and Kutch, the Gujarat Water Supply And Sewerage Board (GWSSB) contacted Sarpanchs of each village. Out of 5588 villages, sarpanchs of 4201 villages were contacted on phone, while sarpanchs of other villages could not be contacted.
GWSSB received good response from Sarpanchs. GWSSB moved four different teams to go directly to the villages that had water supply related issues. After survey of ground situation, the reports were sent to Chief Engineer of concerned zone. The Engineers were asked to solve the problem urgently and send its report to GWSSB head office.
