Gujarat police launches HEART mobile phone helpline for women

Gujarat police has started an emergency response system for women. The ‘Help Emergency Assistance Rescue Terminal’ (HEART) helpline would provide immediate help of police to women through mobile phones in times of emergency. According to Joint Commissioner of Police(Ahmedabad) Shri Sanjay Srvastav, the solution system is aimed at reducing the response time of the police when need arises to provide help to women in distress. A woman in distress will need to dial 1091. Within ten minutes, the police will get the location of that woman through technology.
