State level 15th August function to be held at Bhuj this year, Hamirsar lake front to be developed like Kankaria

The Gujarat government will celebrate state level function of 15th August Independence day at Bhuj in Kutch district.
In a media interaction in Bhuj, MLA Dr. Nimaben Acharya said that the Bhuj town will be decorated like a queen on 14-15 August this year.
“Bhuj’s Hamirsar lake will developed like Kankaria lake of Ahmedabad. Same contractors who upgraded Kankaria lake are hired to give facelift to Hamirsar lake. The government is planning to keep water in Hamirsar lake throughout the year. However due to drought condition, the execution of this task has been postponed. Musical fountain, various rides, hanging bridge, mini train for children and tethered balloon will be set up on Hamirsar lake’s periphery on permanent basis in future,” she said adding that solar power based education park will also be built in Bhuj.
MLA Nimaben Acharya further added that various development works will be dedicated and stones will be laid before the 15th August function. A drive to clean the towns will be initiated.
Nimaben said that an international level memorial of those who died in year 2001 earthquake in Kutch shall be built at a cost of Rs 155 crore at Bhujiya hill.
