Narendra Modi inaugurates Agro mall in Surat(Video)

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated Agro mall in Surat.

Chief Minister started his speech by welcoming rain. He announced that construction of tallest statue of the world ‘Statue of unity’ of Sardar Patel will start on 31st of October this year, and farmers will contribute used iron farming tool for it.

Shri Modi admired media for giving coverage to Surat’s Agro mall initiative. Modi said farmers will get good price of their farm produce, while customers will get farm produce at cheaper price.

Modi said his report on how to arrest price rise is eating dust in Delhi after submitted to Prime Minister. Shri Modi stated that one of the suggestions he gave was the trifurcation of the Food Corporation of India with each of the new entity looking at procurement, management and distribution. Shri Modi opined that till this is done under one head, nothing much can be expected. He recalled that the power sector of Gujarat faced similar problem when he took over but after dividing the work, the results were phenomenal. “We brought professionalism in the power sector, divided the work and the results are very good. I had said the same for FCI,” he affirmed.

Modi said the centre sold wheat to liquor companies, but didn’t supply to poor people even after the direction of the Supreme Court.

Modi admired an initiative of gradation method in collection centers. He emphasized importance of organic farm produce.

Modi gave an idea of starting an online virtual agro mall with facility of placing order on click, and home delivery system.
