Surat: A youth hailing from Jalgaon in Maharashtra caused ruckus and led to interruption rail services from Surat Railway Station after he climbed onto a pillar of the railway high-tension line.
The incident occurred early Friday morning around 2 a.m. when 35-year-old Dhaval Jadav climbed the pillar of the Surat railway line and started dancing there. People attempted to persuade him to get down. However, he continued to run around the pylon of the high-tension line, intoxicated and dancing, refusing to come down. The fire brigade team also arrived at the location after being informed and tried to talk Dhaval into coming down.
However, the inebriated youth threatened to throw stones at the people and fire department officers. Later, fire officer Mahesh Suryawansi climbed the pillar in an effort to convince the youth to come down, but he did not respond. Ultimately, the young man was thrown down from the pillar and caught by fire personnel standing below. The intoxicated youth had thrown his money and mobile phone down, and stones were found in his pockets.
Fire department official Mahesh Patel said, “We received a message from the control room that a man had climbed the pillar of the railway line. We reached the scene promptly and saw the man moving around on the high-tension line. We tried to convince him to come down, but he was not ready. Later, one fireman climbed the pillar while another reached him using a fire department ladder to bring him down. We have handed over the youth to the railway police.”
The rescue of the man took around three hours, during which railway operations were also affected. It is learned that he had a fight with his wife before climbing the railway line pillar. DeshGujarat
