Ahmedabad Flower Show 2026 kicks off at Sabarmati Riverfront

Ahmedabad: The annual Ahmedabad International Flower Show organised by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today. This year marks the 14th edition of the show, where floral installations are showcasing India’s progress in areas such as high-speed rail, renewable energy, sports, space technology and education. The flower show will be open to the public till January 22.

Curated around the theme ‘Bharat Ek Gatha’, the flower show is being held at the Flower Garden and Event Centre in Paldi on the Sabarmati Riverfront. Organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the 2026 edition aims to trace India’s journey from ancient civilisation to a modern, progressive nation through a blend of floral art, culture and history.

One of the key attractions is the ‘Shashvat Bharat’ zone, which highlights India’s mythological heritage. According to Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, floral sculptures have artistically recreated episodes such as Samudra Manthan, teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Govardhan Leela, the descent of the Ganga and Ram Setu, offering visitors a connection with India’s ancient cultural narratives.

Another major highlight is a national unity zone featuring a massive floral mandala with a diameter of 30 metres and what is claimed to be the world’s largest floral portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The installation, honouring Patel’s role in national integration, has been created with the aim of entering the Guinness World Records, the mayor said.

Entry tickets are priced at Rs 80 on weekdays and Rs 100 on weekends and public holidays. Persons with disabilities, soldiers, children aged 12 years and below, and students of AMC-run schools will be granted free entry on all days. Students of non-AMC schools can enter for Rs 10 on weekdays between 9 am and 1 pm. A special prime-time entry fee of Rs 500 will apply between 8 am and 9 am and from 10 pm to 11 pm. The flower show will conclude on January 22. DeshGujarat
