Gujarat-Origin Medical Student Missing in Georgia Found Dead

Ahmedabad: In a tragic development, the body of a 22-year-old medical student from Ahmedabad, who had been missing in Georgia for over a fortnight under mysterious circumstances, has been found in a river, leaving his family devastated and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Dhwanit Rajdeep, a resident of the Nikol area of Ahmedabad, was living in Georgia to pursue higher medical studies. He was reported missing on May 14 after he allegedly disappeared from his hostel accommodation. Following his disappearance, his family sought help through social media and approached the Union Ministry of External Affairs for assistance in locating him.

According to family members, Dhwanit had been involved in a dispute with his local landlord in Georgia. The family alleged that frequent arguments and mental harassment by the landlord may have played a role in his disappearance and had urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

During the course of the search operation, Georgian police recovered Dhwanit’s body from a local riverbed. The body has been sent for postmortem examination, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the death was the result of suicide, an accident, or foul play.

The news has plunged the family into mourning. Relatives have appealed to the Indian government to facilitate the early repatriation of Dhwanit’s body and ensure a fair and comprehensive investigation by Georgian authorities.

The incident is the latest in a series of cases involving Indian students studying abroad and has once again highlighted concerns regarding the safety and welfare of students pursuing higher education overseas. DeshGujarat
