Gujarat Govt Approves Key TP Schemes in Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has approved several Town Planning (TP) schemes in Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat, paving the way for planned urban development, improved infrastructure and enhanced public amenities in key growth corridors. The decisions were notified by the state’s Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.

Among the key decisions, the government granted final approval to the Paldi Extension (Fourth Modified) TP Scheme and the Ambawadi TP Scheme in Ahmedabad. However, the TP Scheme proposed for the Virochannagar-Khoraj area was rejected.

While approving the Paldi Extension scheme, the government directed modifications related to the area, purpose and configuration of final plots. Corresponding changes will be incorporated into the scheme’s official records, maps and redistribution statements.

In Ambawadi, the government approved provisions for reserving land for social infrastructure and public-use facilities, a move aimed at meeting the growing demand for civic amenities in rapidly urbanising areas.

The state government also approved Primary Town Planning Scheme No. 36/3 (Ghanteshwar-Parapipalya) in Rajkot. The approval includes amendments to the area, purpose and numbering of several final plots. Land has also been earmarked for social infrastructure, parking facilities and other public utilities. Officials said the scheme is expected to boost road development and planned urban growth in the area.

In Surat, the government issued a corrigendum to an earlier notification concerning the Surat Urban Development Authority’s (SUDA) Primary Town Planning Scheme No. 47 (Kholvad-Bharad). The amendments revise details related to the area and use of certain final plots, while some plot numbers have been cancelled. Necessary changes will be reflected in the scheme’s documents, maps and redistribution statements.

Officials said the approved TP schemes in Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat are expected to support the development of roads, open spaces, public facilities and modern urban infrastructure, while ensuring better land-use planning in expanding urban areas. DeshGujarat
