Kheda: In yet another alleged case of “Love Jihad,” local police have arrested a man for allegedly concealing his religious identity and luring away a married Hindu woman from Kathlal taluka in Kheda district.
A complaint was registered at Kathlal police station after the woman, a mother of two from a village in Kathlal taluka, went missing. Acting on the complaint, police traced both the woman and the accused, Nazim Ansari, within a short period and brought them back to Kathlal for further investigation.
Kapadvanj Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) Vikramsinh Solanki said police are conducting a thorough probe to determine whether any larger network or conspiracy is linked to the case and to identify any other individuals who may have been involved.
According to police, the accused, identified as Nazim Ansari, is originally from Bihar’s Vaishali district and had been running a puncture repair shop near Raj Shakti Hotel on the Ahmedabad-Indore Highway for the past two years. Investigators allege that he introduced himself locally as “Raj” or “Raju Thakor” and concealed his actual identity.
Police said Ansari allegedly developed a relationship with the woman while posing under the false identity and reportedly promised to marry her according to Hindu customs and rituals. Investigators claim he persuaded her to leave her home and accompany him.
After the woman went missing, her family approached Kathlal police station and lodged a complaint, suspecting that she had been taken away by the accused.
Based on the complaint, police launched a search operation using technical surveillance and human intelligence inputs. Authorities subsequently traced both the accused and the woman, reportedly in Uttar Pradesh, and brought them back to Kathlal.
Police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case. DeshGujarat
