GIDC Allots Residential Plots to 174 Industrialists, 260 Employees in Ankleshwar
August 21, 2026
Ankleshwar: The Gujarat government has resolved a long-pending issue over the allotment of residential plots to industrialists and employees in the Ankleshwar GIDC area. Following Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi’s visit to Ankleshwar on August 17, the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) completed the allotment process within two days through a transparent online draw.
Residential plots have been allotted to 174 eligible industrialists from the Ankleshwar, Jhagadia and Panoli colonies. In addition, 260 GIDC officers and employees have also been allotted residential plots according to their eligibility.
The industrialists had submitted online applications for residential plots in 2018, but the allotments remained pending for several years. During Sanghavi’s visit to Ankleshwar Colony on August 17, representatives of the Colony Board raised the issue and requested that the pending applications be resolved.
Taking the representation into consideration, Sanghavi directed officials to take immediate action. Subsequently, an online draw was conducted on August 19 in the presence of representatives of the industrialists, following which the eligible applicants were allotted plots.
Plots ranging from 125 to 200 sq m
As per GIDC policy and eligibility criteria, residential plots measuring 125, 150 and 200 square metres have been allotted to the 174 eligible industrialists based on their respective categories.
The allotment has also been carried out for eligible GIDC officers and employees who had been waiting for residential plots for several years, in accordance with the applicable rules.
Residential zone spread across 400 hectares
GIDC has developed a residential zone spread across around 400 hectares in Ankleshwar. The area has been equipped with basic infrastructure and civic amenities, including drinking water, roads, street lighting, rainwater drainage and sewage systems.
The completion of the allotment process has brought relief to industrialists as well as GIDC officers and employees, particularly those who had been waiting since 2018. The online draw was conducted within a short period following the representation, providing a transparent mechanism for resolving the long-pending issue. DeshGujarat
