Gujarat Police Recruitment Exam 2026: 25,000 Candidates to Appear on August 23

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board will conduct written examinations for the recruitment of Police Sub-Inspector (Wireless), Technical Operator, Police Sub-Inspector (Motor Transport) and Head Constable Driver Mechanic (Grade-1) in Ahmedabad on August 23, 2026. Around 25,000 candidates have downloaded call letters for the three examinations.

The recruitment process is underway for 172 posts of Police Sub-Inspector (Wireless), 698 posts of Technical Operator, 35 posts of Police Sub-Inspector (Motor Transport) and 45 posts of Head Constable Driver Mechanic (Grade-1).

All three examinations will be conducted in the multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. The examinations for Police Sub-Inspector (Wireless) and Technical Operator will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and will consist of 200 MCQs. The Police Sub-Inspector (Motor Transport) examination will also be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and will consist of 210 MCQs. The Head Constable Driver Mechanic (Grade-1) examination will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm and will have 210 MCQs.

Candidates will be required to score at least 40% marks separately in Part A and Part B to qualify for the examination. Each MCQ will carry one mark, and negative marking will apply.

Strict security arrangements to prevent malpractice

To ensure that the examinations are conducted transparently and without malpractice, more than 1,100 police officers and personnel, along with around 1,500 officers and employees from the Education Department, have been assigned examination-related duties. An officer of the Police Inspector (PI) rank has been appointed as the Recruitment Board’s representative at each examination centre.

Facial Recognition Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will also be used to prevent malpractice. All vehicles used for examination-related purposes will be tracked through GPS and monitored from the State Recruitment Control Room at Karai.

The examinations will be conducted under the supervision of the Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner, with a senior police officer of DIGP rank overseeing the arrangements. The Recruitment Board has put in place multiple layers of security and elaborate measures to ensure that the examinations are conducted fairly and without irregularities.

The Recruitment Board has appealed to candidates who have not yet downloaded their call letters to do so at the earliest. Candidates have also been advised to reach their respective examination centres on time. DeshGujarat
