NRG Sam Pitroda on Indo-US relations(English mp3)

Satyanarayan Pitroda, better known as ‘Sam Pitroda’ is well-known among Delhi, Gujarat and Chicago’s Indian intellectual circle. Technocrat Sam came in a limelight with his intimate relationship with then prime minister of India Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. Nri Gujarati(NRG) Sam is well-known for his knowledge and work particularly in telecom field. He is one of the early birds from Gujarat who migrated to U.S. in 1960s.
Chairman of government of India’s National Knowledge commission, Sam has talked in his this speech about dimensions of Indo-America relationship from 1960s up to now. This speech is like a chapter of some book titled as ‘India-U.S. relationship 1960s-2006’. Speech was recorded by DeshGujarat in Ahmedabd’s Thakorbhai Desai auditorium.

BJP sidelined Sam Pitroda for a long time.. We lost an opportunity to tap onto Sam’s knowledge and expertise.. Good that we are now forward looking and hopefully have him more involved

Pitroda says, BSNL should be privtised and he says English must be there from std. 1 in schools. Who will subscribe to such ideas ?

i fully stand behind the thought of having english from std.1

I am not agree with English from std.1 A Gujarati child should learn his mother language first. English can be started from fifth. We do not want to make confused generation by enforcing two languages on little mind.

I am fully agree with Mr. Ashok Shah, English from 5th is O.K., at least let the child understand his/her own language. The carrier should be strengthen inough to carry the load. Let the child’s base be clear before teaching him other langauage.
