A look back at Videos generated by DeshGujarat in year 2008
By team DeshGujarat
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, Year End 2008

To say Christian year 2008 bye bye, here is a post to look back at DeshGujarat.Com’s originally generated videos that became popular during the year.

In January, Gujarati stand-up comedian Dr.Jagdish Trivedi was awarded in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat put it’s exclusive video online. A video on Junagadh’s naked saint’s Bhavnath fair threw light on different activities happening there. Video on inside view of a train called ‘Science Express’ was amusing and colorful.

IIM Ahmedabad’s trick to prevent pigeons in it’s new campus building was novel and a funny story on it with video was super hit at DeshGujarat. Coverage on Ahmedabad’s Mouth Organ Lovers Club garden gathering was another hit video. But more hit was a video that contained LK Advani riding a steady bicycle in Science City’s new pavilion.

Ahmedabad’s biggest street festival is Rathyatra. We showed Bhagwan Jagannath’s Raths with a detail closed approach. At DeshGujarat we also telecast Rathyatra’s three rath’s darshan in Rathyatra morning itself. Many of you NRIs could see Rathyatra before many of Ahmedabad people could see it. We try to follow this routine every year so that NRI Gujaratis can do a darshan of Rathyatra. We also telecast Holi’s bonfire regularly every year. We get feedback from many NRI Gujaratis that they consume food on Holi only after darshan of Holi bonfire on DeshGujarat.

A video story on strange Gumda masjid was entertaining. A video story on a person who has chosen strange way to go to Ayodhya from Gujarat was also liked and appreciated by many of our viewers.

The best DshGujarat video story we can say in year 2008 was on Asaram Bapu ashram’s dhamal. This video became hugely popular in online media in those days when Asaram issue was at it’s peak across Gujarat.

DeshGujarat continued to break exclusive stories throughout the year. We showed you Ahmedabad Science city’s globe shaped forthcoming pavilion in video. Also Mr. Praveen Togadia’s complete press conference coverage was telecast by DeshGujarat. IIM Ahmedabad based Barcamp was covered by DeshGujarat in a story.

We telacast two stories on Vautha fair. Both were hit. One story was on Vautha’s tent city and another was on pollution of river Sabarmati in Vautha and it’s effects on the fair.

Making of Dwarka’s golden throne was telecast recently. Also we telecast coverage on Kutch Rann Utsav. We showed Kutch’s White Rann which you can’t see anywhere else online. We also showed stories on Dhordo Tent City and Banni’s mavo made from milk.

Huhh!! And this all just about DeshGujarat’s originally generated videos. We featured many videos from fantastic netizen people who uploaded them online and made them available for free sharing mostly through You Tube. Just visit our categories like Narendra Modi, Video, Comedy, Tourism, Music etc in depth and more depth and you would be amazed to find treasure of visuals from Gujarat on DeshGujarat.

In year 2009, more videos with better quality and little bit more mature presentation for sure.
