-The Congress party has tied up with a company, Wilson Printcity to develop a software for internet kiosks that will provide information about the party and it’s achievement, along with plain internet surfing. The Kiosks named as ‘Hakikat Jaano(know the truth)’ are being placed at colleges, malls, multiplexes and other areas frequented by youths. 12 kiosks are planned for Ahmedabad city. A visitor simply needs to enter his mobile number to get access of the kiosk. For 20 minutes he/she would be able to surf internet. UPA’s achievements, comparison of UPA and NDA rule, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s speeches etc. would be a part of the kiosk. Every kiosk would be accompanied by one Congress man to assist the visitors.
-The Congress party’s candidates from tribal dominated constituencies were busy taking advantage of Holi festival to contact the tribal voters. Lakhs of tribal get to gather in Haats and fairs before, after and on the Holi. Congress declared it’s candidates for tribal dominated seats such as Sabarkantha, Chhota Udepur, Panchamahal, Dahod, Valsad and Bardoli before Holi. When DeshGujarat contacted Congress’ one of the candidates from tribal area, Mrs. Prabha Taviyad(Dahod) over a phone call, a day after Holi, she said, “definitely I grabbed this opportunity of mixing with the voters on the occasion of Holi. In our area, Holi is bigger than Diwali. In fact, Holi is not a single day event like the urban areas. I am at Dungar village right now and meeting and greeting the voters wishing them Holi Mubark.”
-Now this is interesting. The Congress party’s Gujarat unit has yet not removed C.K.Patel’s name from their official website. C.K.Patel’s name has been mentioned on “Organization / G.P.C.C. Delegates” page of the Gujarat Congress website. It is very well known fact that Mr. C.K. Patel had actually left the Congress party in last December to join the BJP but his name is still there on Congress website as a delegate. C.K.Patel is rich NRI eying Sabarkantha’s BJP ticket for this Lok Sabha election.
But then let’s also talk about BJP’s Gujarat unit website. This website has a page that contains list of the BJP members of parliament elected from Gujarat. Some months back, Surat MP Kashiram Rana’s name was missing on that page. Then Kashiram Rana’s name suddenly entered into the list after some news item published in some newspaper. But you can watch for yourself even today that while every MP’s name, address and phone number is present, Kashiram’s is missing.
-Rahul Gandhi visited Gujarat in December 2007 for Gujarat assembly elections canvasing. He did a road show in Surat on the last day of canvasing but all the seats of Surat went to the BJP when results were declared. Rahulbaba visited Vadodara too, but almost whole of the city too was captured by the BJP. Recently when Rahul Gandhi was on a tour of Gujarat, local body by-elections were going on in the state. Out of total 36 seats, the BJP secured 24, Congress 11 and independent 1. Modi raised this issue in his Maharashtra/Goa campaign rallies. Soon after Rahul’s Gujarat visit, Vadodara Youth Congress Chief resigned from Congress to join the BJP. Now in latest development on this Sunday, Rajkot’s Royal family’s son Mandhatasinh Jadeja is going to join the BJP in presence of Gujarat BJP president Purushottam Rupala. Mandhatasinh is son of Manoharsinh Jadeja who was state’s Finance Minister in Congress rule. Ahmedabad based high-profile advocate, school owner and Gujarat Cricket Association’s vice president Sudhir nanavati’s son Devang Nanavati(Times of India’s lead India fame)too has joined BJP recently. Along with Mandhatasinh, Ex-Congress Chief Minister late Chhabildas Mehta’s grandson Amit Mehta is also joining the BJP in Rajkot this Sunday. Ex-Congress central minister for environment Shri Digvijaysingh Zala’s son Kesharisinh who hails from Wankaner’s Royal family too is joining BJP soon. Veraval’s ex-MLA Chunibhai Gohil, Rajkot’s ex-MLA Tapubhai Limbasia, Surendranagar’s Dhanaraj Kella and band wagon of Congressmen are joining BJP this Sunday in Rajkot.
-Ever since Satyajit Gaekwad’s name has been announced as Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Vadodara, there is unrest in local unit. The Congressmen unhappy with party’s decision to repeat Gaekwad as Vadodara’s candidate even after his couple of defeats on the same seat in past two elections met on the occasion of Holi. They played Holi and discussed their next steps. City Congress chief, Ex-MLA Dalsukh Prajapati, ticket seeker Mr. patel expressed their anger on TV camera too openly. It seems that fight that is already tough enough would become tougher for Satyajit in this election as house is not in order.
