Dinubhai Solanki is BJP candidate for Junagadh seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) finally announced it’s Junagadh candidate on Monday. The party has fielded Dinubhai Solanki(52) to contest Junagadh Lok Sabha seat.

Dinubhai Solanki is three time BJP MLA from Kodinar seat. He won assembly election in 2007 by 32034 votes. He is a crorepati who declared his Rs19,187,118 assets in 2007. Dinubhai Solanki belongs to Karadia Rajput community.

In Lok Sabha election 2009, Dinubhai Solanki will be contesting against Congress’s sitting member of parliament Jashubhai Barad.

In 2004, BJP fielded Bhavnaben Chikhalia. She was defeated by Jashubhai.

BJP has announced all 26 candidates in Gujarat while Congress has announced 25 candidates. Congress has not announced it’s Surat candidate yet.

Junagadh was the only seat in Gujarat, where BJP had not declared it’s candidate in first two lists. Gujarat BJP president Purushottam Rupala had claimed that this was a party’s strategy.
