The Postal department has tied up with Ministry of Railways for booking of railway tickets. The railway ticket booking service will be made available at the following Post offices in Gujarat from today at 11:00 am

1.Sidhpur main post office, Sidhpur
2.Modasa main post office, Modasa
3.Gondal post office, Gondal
4.Reliance green colony post office, Jamnagar5
5.Ambawadi vistar post office, Ahmedabad
6.Sanand post office, Sanand
7.Surat Textile market post office, Surat
8. Nandniketan post office, Surat
9. Rander post office, Surat
10. Sachin post office, Surat
11.Bombay market post office, Surat
12. Surat head office, Surat

This initiative has been taken after successful pilot project at Sidhpur post office. According to sources in postal department, introduction of scheme at 12 post offices is just first phase of the initiative. In second phase, more post offices will come under the scheme. Railway ticket booking/reservation facility at more post offices will definitely bring down rush at reservation centres located at railway stations.
