The city of Surat has decided to celebrate the July 22 solar eclipse by organizing several programs on related theme including, competitions, seminar and scientific study.

At Chamber of Commerce, Surat Municipal Commissioner Aparna, Collector Dilip Rawal, Chambers President Nilesh Mandelval, Deputy Commissioner Pradipsinh Jhala etc. discussed the perparations for Solar Eclipse event.

Three locations were figured out in the city, where people can have proper view of the Solar eclipse. The places are: Airport, Nana Varachha, River view heights near Savji Korat bridge and Vrajbhoomi party plot near Sarthana zoo.

Various schools will organize essay, elocution and painting competition on Solar eclipse theme. On July 21st, several lectures will be delivered in various schools. On the same day, Surat indoor stadium will witness a cultural program on the Sun God. A seminar will also be organized to make awareness among the people about this historical event.

People will be encouraged to capture the moments of Solar eclipse in their cameras. Eye specialist doctors will be consulted for healthy observation of the eclipse. Activities of birds and animals will be documented during Solar eclipse. Local TV and radios stations will organize quiz on Solar eclipse theme.
