After long period of extra-hot and humid afternoon in the middle of the monsoon season, rains lash parts of Guajarat including major cities like Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot on Thursday.

In Ahmedabad, black clouds paraded the sky in the evening and heavy rain was experienced soon then after. The city of Surat in south Gujarat experienced heavy rain in the afternoon.

Showers were experienced in parts of Saurashtra including Rajkot.

Current rain spell is timely and like a blessing for starving crops in the state.
