Rail traffic resumes in South Gujarat after two-hour long agitation

BJP concluded its two-hour long agitation against railway in Southern part of Gujarat at around 10:30 am on Monday. The agitation thus remained symbolic. More than 100 BJP workers were detained by police in Surat, Navsari etc places.
All trains passing through about 40 railway stations of South Gujarat between 8.00 am and 10.30 am were stopped by agitating BJP workers led by Navsari MP C.R.Patil protesting against central railway department’s discrimination and unsolved pending issues with railway.
Thousands of passengers were trapped in trains or at railway stations. However most of them who were familiar with southern Gujarat’s railway problems supported the cause of agitation.
Major trains including Karnavati Express, Shatabdi Express, Sayajinagari, Gujarat Express, were stopped by agitating BJP workers. After about one hour halt, the trains resumed their journey at around 10.40 am.
