Sachin Tendulkar eleven was defeated today by Virendra Sehwag eleven at Surat’s Lalbhai Contractor stadium in a benefit match organized for former wicket keeper Sameer Dighe. The match was sponsored by local Nagjibhai Sakariya’s diamond exporting firm, H Vinod and Co.

Thousands of cricket fan enjoyed the four-hour long T20 match in which stars of Indian cricket including Gautam Gambhir, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Ajit Agarkar, Ishant Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh and Siddharth Patel played.

Sehwag’s team won toss and chose to bat first. The match was full of entertainment. Sehwag scored six four in six ball in Shahbuddin’s over. He scored 42 run in only 15 ball. While Sehwag was out at 43, Dravid in middle order scored 59. Sehwag elevan’s total score was 193 at 9 wicket.

Sachin Tendulkar eleven couldn’t overtake this score. Tendulkar was felicitated with silver bat and a shield for his 20 year contribution to Indian cricket.
