this thing show how much NRI people sleep abroad ha ha ha

ahmedabad have capacity that all world direct flight start from there but required just proper pressssure on gujarat govt and central govt. so all gujarati make benefit

    jay jay garvi gujarat

  2. NCGO (National Congress of Gujarati Organisations UK) campaign for direct flights from London to Gujarat seems to have been heeded by Aviation Minister Praful Patel.

Well done NCGO,Praful Patel and Narendra Modi for facilitating this.

    Jay Gujarat,

  3. sadia says:

For five crore Gujaratis one flight to London from Ahmedabad is not good enough.
There Should direct flights from Birmingham ,Manchester Glassgow etc to Ahmedabad and Bombay.

  4. Patel says:

Thanks…..definately need the direct flights to Ahmedabad to london…..cheers if its good starting after october…who does that is a great person & thanks a lot..

  5. Dharmendra Gohil says:

Why wait till October when this direct flight to Ahmedabad to London and vase versa can start from immediate effect ? I still don’t trust their timings. Do they seriously care I sometimes wonder, Gujratis suffer a lot due to Mumbai and Delhi connections.

  6. UNKNOWN says:

    Well Done,

From long time all the people leave in UK waiting to start Direct flight london – Ahmedabad. Big hassel every time when NRI travel from via Mumbai or Delhi. Too long hold as well.

Thanks to Narendra Modi and Praful Patel to start this facility to help all the people. Please request to continues this service forever its save our time and No more hassel. Ahmedabad airport have the capacity to start more direct flight from this airport.

    Thanks Again

  7. Dimple Gohil says:

So why was direct flights from Air India and Jet Airways stopped in the past ! More flights should have been included instead of going backwards. I hope they move forward this time and respect passenger wishes and not just cone them once again. At least we trust Mr Modi fully always.

  8. Porbudas Rama says:

Its a dream come back for all Gujratis, All the airlines should be given chance to operate with this route and not just the Indian ones like Air India and Jet Airways, like in the past. Mumbai and Delhi have the true competition. Then it becomes Fair for all of us.

  9. AMD is a busy airport. The biggest problem is that it is a yield market. But on the other hand there are many flights on foreign carriers such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, etc. In my humble opinion, Air India lives off of flights to Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Amritsar. Not so popular with south Indians.

  10. Riya says:

Ahmedabad is the sixth largest city of India and, the International facility was long back due for dynamic community of India for India’s own good cause ! I hope all the airlines get the fair chance to compete. But when will all the services start ? No one can trust Indian corruption system for anything.Lets hope our Gujratis get some counting at last !

  11. chetan (UK) says:

It is good news that direct flights are resuming,
however one needs to look into the operations of the immigration and customs at Ahmedabad.
The waiting time at the airport used to be very long after arrival and on one occassion the immigration officer didnt know what a Visa looked like and made the passenger wait as he and his collegues gathered around to discuss the matter.
The customs are overzelous in their job , hoping to probably make a quick buck.
It is for the above reason , most passengers prefer Mumbai where immigration
just takes a few minutes and customs is just a walk through for most passengers.
Hope Gujarat improves in the above like it has in most other ways of life.
    Jai hind.

  12. Rhea says:

Well said Chetan. The Immigration officers at Ahmedabad airport can get on top of you and for no reason waist your good 3 to 4 hours in hope of good baksheesh (bribe) .This is well known and common knowledge, Hence still number of passengers would prefer to cross over at Delhi or Mumbai with no hassle ever, And join Ahmedabad safely. Now that was the very reason Ahmedabad lost business in the first place and may possibly happen again, only Mr, Modi can save us. Good luck Gujratis & Mr Prafful Patel please look into this for God’s sake !

  13. Naran says:

It’s good news that direct flight will start from London to Ahmedabad, how about connecting flights from Ahmedabad to Bhuj as currently there are no domestic flights between Ahmedabad and Bhuj. Lots of Kutchis live in UK and they will not benifit from this service unless we have Ahmedabad to Bhuj domestic flight which will also benifit kutchis coming from Kenya and Australi who uses Emirate airways via Dubai.
London to Ahmedabad flight is step in the right direction.

  14. Naran says:

    જય જય ગરવી ગુજરાત

  15. RITA says:

Truth always wins. So don’t mind if finally our direct flights starts sooner then latter !

  16. lal says:

    Hi,
Totaly agree with Rhea we need world class Immigration service at this airport after 8 hours of flight no person wants to spend 3 0r 4 hours for custom clearance

  17. Dharmendra Gohil says:

    Hi,
Seriously this is a very good sweet news for us Gujratis, but hang on, If this service is to start from October then why nothing is scheduled to start in terms of booking advertising etc.Is this all really going to happen less then three months time from now on as promised ! No good celebrating on false hopes, because there is no news at all about this new service beginning ? Has somebody or Mr Patel or Mr Modi has any serious answer to this then please reply kindly. Millions of Gujratis will be glad to know answer then to keep them in limbo forever !

  18. Porbudas Rama says:

    Hello friends,
Well said Dharmendra,Its all wishful thinking. Nothing at all is planned or is in any visibility, what’s so ever ! Its all easily said then done ! Every one is jumping very high, please wait and see the true result and then be happy ! If this service starts then what’s good for Gujarat is of course good for India I mean mother India, my bharat mata. Jai Hind

  19. Dharaam Raja says:

    Jai Hind,
I sincerely think after reading all the above reviews that we r or anybody is not really sure, if this direct flight service from London to Ahmedabad is seriously ever going to start around, October 2010 as widely informed. Now this is a very, disturbing news for all of us as this perhaps wrong rumour is unnecessarily distributed without any sound and solid confirmation ! I sincerely hope to be, proved wrong, as I too is getting unnecessarily too Happy about this Good News. Now can somebody confirm when this good valuable service is starting ?
    Jay Mother India.

  20. Pravin Amin says:

As Chairman of National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (UK) representing 105 organisations, Website http://www.ncgo.co.uk, I am perurbed to find that despite Hon. Shri Praful Patel’s undertaking nothing has happened so far.

For a number of months we have been seeking from the Indian Government to reintroduce direct non-stop flights to Ahmedabad. Gujaratis are very inconvenienced by flights which go via Bombay and Delhi.

On the day of the celebration of India’s Independence Day at Indian Gymkhana, Isleworth, UK, we talked to Sheilendra Tomar, Marketing Manager – UK & Ireland, Air India with Jitubhai and Umeshbhai.

As the latest Flight Schedule did not include direct flights, we asked him of Air India’s intentions.

On 4 July, Hon Shri Praful Patel, Aviation Minister, India had promised to re-introduce direct, non-stop flights from London to Ahmedabad.

Mr. Tomar said that direct flights to Ahmedabad were not included in the timetable and NCGO needs to take this up with Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Aviation, India.

We have written to Shri Praful Patel again seeking action from him. We also appeal to the Chief Minister, Shree Narendra Modi and other Ministers in the Government of Gujarat to extend their support.

All travellers, especially, the old, frail and parents with children suffer due to unnecessary arduous travel. the businessmen have to endure longer journeys and lose vital time.

We seek that this wish of Gujaratis is fulfilled.

  23. Dimple says:

Before celebrating like complete fools, please get real concrete facts right ! This International direct flight news has suddenly vanished as fast as it arrived ! This Patidar Patel is duplicate and don’t vote for him again in any area as he has fooled all Gujarat and spoiled our Patidar name shamefully. If anybody see him please remind him of his promise to allow direct flight between Ahmedabad and London !

  24. Rashesh Patel says:

Definately they have made all of us fool, its been now ages since they told about direct flights to Ahmedabad and now suddently it has been disappeared. It is nightmare to travel Ahmedabad via Mumbai. All flights fly over Ahmedabad to reach Mumbai and I have no idea why they prefer to cross Ahmedabad and stop at Mumbai and then fly back to Ahmedabad.

  25. yogesh mehta says:

we request to our minister Mr.Prafful Patel and our c.m. mr.Modi that why govt. has cnacled the direct flight fronm Sharjaf as well as from dubai whwre other national carrier is running smoothly. we request plese look in to this and start atleast from one destination so that we proudly use our national carrier.

  27. Rani says:

    @Manish
Manish Forget London and just stay in peaceful Gujarat. Students who have recently arrived, and in the past are mostly crying their eyes, out for very poor quality of life with hardly any money coming and mounting debts.

If think the grass is green in London then think wisely. Many students have gone back with bad experience so, for god’s sake, forget this wild dreams of leaving Gujarat at present time or in future. God Bless

  28. its realy nice , direct flight to london , we need it , and now we got it.

    thank you

  29. Chetan says:

    Dear Manish
If your English is poor then there are no jobs for you in the UK and follow Rani’s advice.
    Dear All,
As for the direct flts, I am sure the government will have a HIGH LEVEL meeting very soon.
And don’t forget, even if the flights were to resume, the immigration & customs at Ahmedabad may make you wish you were better off at Mumbai.
For all of us who prefer to go to Gujarat as soon as we land at Mumbai, there are no easy options but
to stay overnight in Mumai and spend at least Rs. 10,000.
Now the desi population may wonder why we complain about the expenses as they do really believe that the postman comes every morning with a package full of £ & $.
Mind you , some of the blame has to be on the NRI.
    Happy holidays ,

  30. Ash says:
