Gandhinagar, 17 July 2010

If you want to make money, choose real estate, share broker or other profession like that but don’t become an advocate. The duty of advocate is to ensure justice for the people, India’s former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee said today during his address to students at National Law University in Gandhinagar. Sorabjee was Chief Guest of the function held on the occasion of seventh birth anniversary of the University.

Sorabjee said, while it is fine to take fees from client, at the same time he should not feel that there is purely a business going on. It is for advocates to see that their black gowns get respect.

Sorabjee also said, that any advocate should be appointed as senior advocate only it he fight at least six case in a year for free of cost.
