Election for three Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat on July 22

Rajya Sabha election for three seats of Gujarat will be held on July 22, the Election Commission said today.
The Election Commission today said biennial elections and bye-elections would be held on July 22 to fill up ten Rajya Sabha seats that will fall vacant on the expiry of the terms of the members concerned and two casual vacancies. Of this three seats will witness election in Gujarat.
The three members from Gujarat in Rajya Sabha whose terms will expire are Mr. Ahmed Patel(Congress, Bharuch), Mr. Pravinchandra Naik(BJP, Surat) and Mr. Surendra Patel(BJP, Ahmedabad).
The notification for the elections will be issued on July 5 and the last date for filing nominations is July 12. The counting of votes will be taken up on July 22.
