When Fire brigade rushed to rescue a woman in Bhavnagar
Bhavnagar, 25 June, 2011

Fire brigade persons in Bhavnagar suffered a comic shock on Friday when they rushed to rescue a woman from committing suicide, but found that it was actually a film shooting going on.
The Police and the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot on city’s Waghawadi Road based Shoppers Plaza on Friday after receiving a phone call informing that a woman was going to commit suicide,
But when they reached the spot it came out that it was a shoot of a Gujarati film scene where the actress was supposed to commit suicide.
After coming to know the truth the Police and the Fire brigade officials took a sigh of relief.

Such comic news instantly make headlines at DG – even from remotest of the areas of Gujarat, which are long ignored on news front. There are several severe problems Saurashtra and other areas are facing, and those goes unnoticed.
Examples:
- Since 2 weeks, every day, power cut happens in Bhavnagar – despite the lack of single drop of rain.
- There hasn’t been any progress on Dholera-Bhavnagar road construction which is in pathetic shape, leading to accidents (at least 30 per year).
- Gaurav Path (named after hon CM) is in pathetic condition – this road is at Bhavnagar entrance, and is used by trucks and major transport equally.
- WIDELY KNOWN FACT:
Every Gujarat metro’s link road to Bhavnagar is the weakest road that Metro has.
There are many more if you read local dailies. Media’s primary intention is to vocalize people’s voice, not rulers’ voice.
As I have commented at many more posts in the past, there is LOT MORE to be done in Gujarat even while there are worldwide praises for us.
More than I wish my comment gets published (which I doubt), I wish that someone sensible reads this, and reads it between the lines.
