On Cumin trail, Rajasthan minister visits Unjha with delegation

Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Shri Gurmeet Singh Kunnar visited north Gujarat’s Unjha based ganj bazar for studying the method of working here.
Kunnar along with Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Rajasthan Shri Anil Gupta,Rajasthan state agriculture marketing board’s Jaswinder Goyal and other representatives were welcomed by Unjha APMC chairman Gaurang Patel, MLA of Unjha Narayan Patel, Members of the market committee and the representatives of the merchant’s association.
In the meeting held in Unjha Market committee the agricultural minister received on-the-ground knowledge of the way of working in Unjha. In this meeting she stated that they intend to develop a smilar Agriculture market in Rajasthan.
The chairman of Unjha APMC, Gaurang Patel also provided the information on the various schemes like Accident insurance scheme, education and social schemes and the other projects undertaken by the market. The representatives also observed the auction activity. They visited the Mess (Bhojanalay) and the different departments of the APMC.
As the production of Cumin (jeera) grown in Rajasthan comes straightly to Unjha, the agriculture minister of Rajasthan lightly commented that whenever they have a discussion on cumin, the name of Unjha always comes up. The Agriculture minister further said that in Rajasthan the farmers feel that Rajasthan lacks something like Unjha.
The agricultural minister of Rajasthan and the representatives were highly impressed after seeing the infrastructure of Ganjbajaar, Pandit Dindayal Hall, the laboratory, the administrative department, the modern amenities and the precise maintenance.
