Amendments in State Industrial Policy 2009 likely soon

Exercise of review of State Industrial Policy 2009 by the different working groups is almost over and on the bases of suggestions made by the different groups the Gujarat government is likely to make required amendments shortly. The working groups are consists of representatives of different industry, trade bodies and industry leaders and government officials.
The Industrial policy was announced in January 2009. As its almost three years have passed of the policy, the government felt to review the outcome of it and make necessary amendments for better results.
Special working groups were formed for sectors like Gem & Jewelery, textile and apparels, Agri-business & fisheries, chemical, Auto & Engineering and the SME sector. These groups have given their report to the government on the policy level issues of concern sector with suggestions for necessary amendments in the policy.
On the bases of various working groups reports a Ministerial group and state cabinet will review the suggestions and clear necessary amendments. Thereafter the Industry department will issue amended Government Resolutions(GRs).
