Gujarat’s Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce has written a letter to Indian Prime Minister, Defense minister and Commerce minister to open a road connecting Gujarat’s Kutch district to Pakistan’s Sindh district.
According to Vidhyut Buch, President of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce, the Bhuj-Lakhpar road of Kutch should be extended to Badin in Pakistan, while Bhuj-Khaswa-Sardar post road of Kutch can be extended to Pakistan’s Mithi(via Ram ki bazar). Another roadway possible between two countries is Rapar-Bela-Nagarparkar.
“Kutch and Pakistan are geographically connected. Prior to 1947, Kutch had close relation with the existing border villages of Pakistan. This situation can be brought back. By opening a road transportation, both countries can develop commerce. If government can open Wagah-Atari route in Punjab, and Munabao-Khokhrapar route in Rajasthan, why not Kutch-Sindh route,” said Murlidhar Jagani, Secretary of Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce.
