Ahmedabad police crime branch today arrested three persons in Soniade murder case from city’s Jamalpur/Raikhad area.

Those arrested are Vasim Chhipa, Shehzad and Gumansinh alias Renu.

According to police, Soniade’s rival eunuch gang leader Sanjude Pavaiya and her husband Shehzad jointly masterminded Soniade’s killing.

Ganesh, a sharp shooter from Madhya Pradesh was given a contract to kill Soniade. Vasim’s role was to keep track of Soniade for perfect execution.

Ganesh killed Soniade on 24 November when she was enjoying pani puri on a street side stall near Rupali cinema in Ahmedabad.

Police is yet to arrest Ganesh. Sanju masi is resting at her home due to burn injury. Police has deployed a guard at Sanju masi’s home. She has not been arrested due to health reasons, but her movements are restricted by police.

Police said, Sanju masi was attacked with acid by Soniade gang in Surat in past. Also Sanju masi’s some gang members were booked in loot case, Sanju masi believed that rival Soniade was responsible for this. Once eunuchs of entire Ahmedabad were united under Sanju masi’s akhada. However Soniade challenged this and formed her own gang. Soniade started covering territories of Sanjude. Sanjude was always of opinion that Soniade was fake eunuch and most of her gang members were gays and homosexuals, but not original eunuchs.

Soniade had lately entered into the profession of money recovery and extortion. Sanjude believed that such practices were defaming the original tradition of eunuchs.
