4th Kutch desert car rally concludes with fun and adventure(Video)

The venue was the Rann of Vekaria in Kutch near Loriya and occasion was the beginning of fourth desert car rally, organized by Kutch infrastructure development society(KIDS). There were 21 participants, and all were waiting for flag off ceremony.
The rally witnessed participation from Kutch, Amdavad, Rajkot, Vadodara among other places. Two differently able youths and two lady participants were also part of the event.
Former member of parliament Shri Pushpadan Gadhvi flagged off the rally. Traditionally the rally route is 150 km long, however this year due to water logging in rann, the route was shortened to 72 km.
One participant from Gandhidham faced minor accident near Palara, otherwise the rally was smooth.
Mudra’s Manish Gadhvi secured the first prize of Rs 25,000. Taufic Bhimani was his co-pilot.
Gandhidham’s Ajitdan Gadhvi and Yograj Chauhan came second and secured Rs 11,000 prize. Bhuj’s Sanjay Desai secured third place with Bimal Shah and won Rs 5,000.
All winners including special prize getter Samir Kakkad and Neha Pota were given trophy along with the prize money.
The route was Vekaria rann-Dhori-Misariada-Vekaria rann. Top winner was awarded prize money of Rs 25,000.
Ahmedabad’s 38-year-old Samir Kakkad was participating in car rally for 8th time. Samir has no legs, but he has modified his car and therefore he can operate brake and clutch with hands. Samir is automobile engineer and he has made more than 10,000 cars for those who have not leg. Samir had traveled from Ahmedabad to Leh Laddakh which was 4809 km long journey. Similarly Rajkot’s 40-year-old differently able youth Rajesh Dani was also participating in this rally, but for the first time.
Adipur’s Neha Pota, another participant of this rally said that women should join adventure rallies and sports.
