Melbourne cricket ground size of illegal constructions removed in last two months in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) under the leadership of Commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra has in last two months aggressively removed illegal constructions in the city.The total removal of construction in last two months is 19942 square meter. This is the size equal to Melbourne cricket ground which is 20,000 square meter in area.
As per the figures available from the AMC records, as many as 7565 square meter illegal constructions in parking space are removed in last two months at total 29 places by the Estate department of the AMC. In last two months 167 fresh illegal constructions(that came up post 28 March 2011, the cut of date as per the Impact fee law) were demolished. Three unused premises are sealed.
The AMC has created a central demolition cell which removed 55 units (3404 square meter) in last two months. Moreover the figure of removal of illegal constructions at zone level is 112 units(5656 square meter).
On TP road(town planning road) and BRTS route, 349 units(3317 square meter) constructions were removed in last two months.
