Modi donates Rs 11 lakh to Gujarat BJP, kicking off the ‘Dhan Sangrah’ drive at his resident(Video)

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today donated Rs 11 lakh in individual capacity to Gujarat BJP while kicking off the state BJP’s two-month long ‘Dhan Sangrah’ fund collection drive.
Shri Modi today morning presented a State Bank of India cheque of Rs 11 lakh to state BJP Vice President Shri Kaushik Patel in a small function organized at his resident in Gandhinagar.
Amdavad BJP President individually donated Rs 1 lakh while his party unit donated Rs 1.51 crore cheque to city party in-charge smt Anandiben Patel.
The party has started ‘Dhan Sangrah’ fund collection drive today morning on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal’s death anniversary. The BJP celebrates 11th February as Samarpan divas which means a day of giving.
To mark this occasion, a group of Amdavad BJP met the Chief Minister at 11.30 am at his resident in Gandhinagar to offer cheques to the state party unit.
Amdavad based MLAs, MPs, Chairmen of boards and corporations, vice president of the party Shri Kaushik patel, Mayor Asitbhai Vora, party office bearers of state and city etc were present on this occassion.
Amdavad city BJP President Shri Rakesh Shah said that the party will organize active workers conventions in each of the 17 assembly areas where speeches on Pandit Deendayaji’s life and works will be given and ‘Dhan dan’ fund collection drive will be kicked off. This drive will continue till 6 April.
Sources in Gandhinagar told DeshGujarat that this fund collection drive is thanks to the Election Commission’s decision to monitor the entire movement of spending of the parties and candidates during the election. The EC officials will check the spendings of parties and candidates at ground level and at office level too. Thus it is advisable to keep the accounts clear from now itself. BJP’s ongoing fund collection drive has provision of coupons of Rs 1000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000. The Chief Minister had held meetings of local party unit office bearers after each of his Sadbhavana mission fasts in districts. In such meetings, state party leaders had given targets of fund collection to district office bearers.
