MS University to get Nuclear accelerator, FM radio channel

University Grants Commission(UGC) has approved Rs 20 crore Nuclear accelerator for Vadodara based Maharaja Sayajirao University(MS University).
A selection committee of UGC will visit the MS University campus in near future to select the place for erection of a nuclear accelerator, which will be important for students aspiring to study nuclear physics.
Nuclear accelerator is useful to detect radiation effect on various types of materials. Such machines are functional in other research centres like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai in India.
MS University will also soon get its own FM radio station on 95.2 mh frequency. At present its testing broadcast is already on with the strength of half a dozen students and technicians.
