Ahmedabad, 25 April 2012
International solar energy giant SunEdison company’s official while speaking to media on Tuesday said that the one MW canal-top solar power plant at Sanand-Kadi road would produce 15-16 lakh units of solar power in a year. This would satisfy power need of 7-8,000 rural houses or around 20-25,000 people.
He said that 90 lakh liter water would be saved from evaporation per year due to solar panels over the canal in one km stretch.
“Temperature of panels would be lower due to water in canal, this results into more energy generation,” he said.
