Ahmed Patel led delegation of Gujarat Congress meets union ministers seeking free cotton export under OGL

Gujarat Congress delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP from state Shri Ahmed Patel today met central Finance minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee and Commerce and Textile minister Anand Sharma and asked that cotton export should be made free under Open General License(OGL).
The delegation requested that though the central government has lifted ban on cotton export, the registration process takes too much time, therefore to make the process simpler, the cotton export should be covered under open general license (OGL) and long-term policy on cotton export should be prepared.
The delegation also demanded that with special security arrangement, the Cotton Corporation of India(CCI) should purchase cotton from markets of Gujarat on large scale with price tag of Rs 900 for high quality stock.
Gujarat Congress President Shri Arjun Modhwadia, central minister Bharatsinh Solanki, former state President Siddharth Patel, MPs Viththalbhai Radadia, Somabhai Patel were part of the delegation.
